Terrazzo Polishing - Orlando / Central Florida
STRIPPING AND REFINISHING
Terrazzo can be restored using one of two methods, a natural polish, or a topical finish.
Natural polishing of terrazzo uses the same restoration process as that of restoring marble and granite. Diamond infused pads mounted on a floor machine are used to hone and polish the surface until it has the desired finish.
A topical finish, on the other hand, is achieved by applying coatings or waxes to the surface of terrazzo. When this shiny surface begins to show signs of wear, it is then stripped off and reapplied.
Terrazzo Stripping and Waxing
First, we mask and protect surfaces surrounding our work area. Then, we remove old wax, dirt, debris, and contaminants from the surface of your terrazzo using a professional floor scrubbing machine and if needed, hand tools for the corners, nooks and crannies. Finally, we apply the appropriate number of coats for your particular type of floor to achieve the desired finish. Our high-performance wax restores the shine and luster to your terrazzo.
Terrazzo Refinishing (Honing and Polishing)
Terrazzo can be restored using the same process that is used in restoring marble and granite. It can be honed and polished, using a natural polishing process, to achieve a gloss or matte finish — according to your preference.
When terrazzo is refinished naturally, honing removes the uppermost layer, revealing the brand new layer underneath. Polishing to a gloss or matte finish gives your terrazzo the look you want and eliminates the need for stripping and coatings. With natural refinishing, you can reduce maintenance costs, save time, and have a clean, beautiful terrazzo floor that will wow your family and guests or clients and employees.
